Newcastle’s first romance-only bookstore is heading to Heaton (we think!).
The Sinful Spine has amassed a following of over 3,500 on their Insta, since their first post in early April teased that their ‘dark romance bookstore’ would be opening soon.
In later posts, there’s been clues as to their location, with it possible to view the buildings opposite their shop in some videos, and nearby businesses chipping in, including Body Image Fitness commenting “I think we will be neighbours! Welcome to Heaton Road”
From what we’ve seen, it appears that The Sinful Spine will open up at 12 Heaton Road, next door to Brek-E and on the same stretch of road as Body Image Fitness, Spectrum Tattoo shop, JJ’s Cafe and Strikers Academy. The former occupant was Sparkling Beautique – a salon and training academy.
It’ll be Heaton’s second independent book shop, alongside Bollingbroke Street’s 1b Books.
They’ve hinted that they’ll open the doors in the Summer, with an exact date TBC, will stock all genres and sub-genres of Romance literature (think Dark Romance, Horror Erotica, Fantasy, Romantasy, LGBTQ+ etc), and will be dog friendly!
We look forward to welcoming the team to Heaton Road, and will get them added to our Indie Shops in Heaton category as soon as we see that shutter roll open for the first time.
