One of Heaton’s most loved, dare we say it… iconic establishments was the inimitable Heaton Perk coffee shop.
Located at 103-105 Heaton Park Road, it served up its unique blend of charm, quirk and coffee to the residents of Heaton for over 18 years, before closing its doors a few months back after rent hikes and uncertain trading conditions. Interestingly, one of its neighbours, 109 General Store, was opened in 2020 by the same owners, and continues to trade.
Eagle-eyed Heatonites may have spotted some familiar activity at the old Heaton Perk site, with ‘Goods & Company Coffee House’ taking up the reins.
After a few weeks of previews, sporadic openings, board game nights, cocktails and coffees – in their own words ‘dipping our toes back in the water’, Goods & Company Coffee House look set to breathe new life into the legendary spot.
Before opening full time ‘very soon’, you can pop in over the next two weeks for teas, milkshakes, smoothies, cakes and snacks Monday – Thursday 9am – 4.30pm and cocktail club Thursday & Friday 5-7pm.
